‘US does not rank any country as more or less important’

Islamabad, Nov 2 : The US Embassy here has said that Washington does not "rank" any country as more or less important than the other in any framework of strategic interests.

"Our relationship with every state is based on US national interests in relation to that state," the US embassy statement said.

"The US-Pakistan relationship is a long-term and broad-based partnership that is based on strong trade and investment, security interests, and long-standing cultural and educational ties," it said.

The statement said that it was in the US national interest to continue cooperating with Pakistan as a moderate, successful and modern nation that, through its commitment to democratic principles and shared values, the Daily Times reported. (ANI)
