US officials suspect ISI''s role in unmasking CIA chief''s identity
Washington, May 10 : American officials suspect that a Pakistan government official or an ISI agent was responsible for unmasking the identity of the CIA station chief in Islamabad.
They denounced the attempt as a deliberate retaliation by ISI elements who were
upset at their agency and its officials being named as defendants in a lawsuit filed by the families of American victims of 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
A private Pakistani TV network and a newspaper had reportedly published the CIA''s chief''s name stationed at Islamabad.
The attempt to disclose the CIA officer''s identity is a fresh blow to Pakistan-US relations.
This is not the first time that a CIA station chief in Pakistan has been outted. A lawsuit in December had forced the previous station chief to leave Pakistan. (ANI)
