Verizon and HTC to reportedly announce Droid DNA at November 13 event

Verizon and HTC to reportedly announce Droid DNA at November 13 event In a premature confirmation, Verizon Wireless has revealed that the key attraction at its forthcoming November 13 event will be HTC's new Droid DNA handset, the leaked shots of which are already making rounds on the Internet.

The images of the Droid DNA first got leaked by the Twitter account @evleaks, which unveiled the likely appearance of the handsets by showing off its front as well as rear shots. Going by the leaked shots, the Droid DNA boasts a black body with red accents; thereby bearing a striking resemblance to the HTC Butterfly handsets released in Japan last month.

In fact, according to a report by PhoneDog's Alex Wagner, Verizon's upcoming Droid DNA - which will likely be announced by Verizon and HTC at a joint press conference on Tuesday - is more of a Verizon-specific edition of the Butterfly handset.

Going by Wagner's report, the presently-rumored specifications of the Droid DNA include a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 screen; a 1.5-GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor; nearly 2GB of RAM; and 16GB on-board storage capacity, with a microSD card for storage expansion.

Furthermore, as per the leaked pictures of the Droid DNA, the handset will apparently run the latest Android OS version 4.1 `Jelly Bean'; and will support 4G LTE connectivity. The leaked images have also revealed that the handset will feature touch-sensitive buttons which appear on the front of the device, rather than having software-based buttons to facilitate the users' navigation around Android.
