Videocon interested to set up power project in Punjab

Videocon-LogoVideocon Group has revealed that it is interested in setting up a 1,000 MW thermal power project in Punjab. The company has estimated that it will take an investment of around Rs. 5,000 crore. This move has been indicates that the Diversified business conglomerate Videocon Group is now looking forward to diversify its business to some of the fresh projects.

Chairman Videocon Group Venugopal Dhoot has informed the media that he is waiting for the state government to allow them to go for the project. The company is eagerly anticipating the project. Apart from that such a project will undoubtedly help to meet the rising demand for electricity in the state.

Mr. Dhoot has also said that he is going to have a meeting with Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal soon to discus various issues related to the investment. After the meeting the company will form its action plan towards the infrastructure space in Punjab.

He has also informed that his company was already setting up three power projects in Pipava, Chhattisgarh and Kolkata.
