The World Badminton Federation (WBF) officials have visited Hyderabad to ensure the safety of the players for the Yonex-Sunrise World Badminton championship, which will be held at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium here next month.

WBF secretary-general Stuart Borrie was satisfied with the security arrangement and preparation for the week long event from August 10 and 16 on Saturday.

He said that this tournament would be successful, and everything has been well prepared as BWF has done a fantastic work to make it a grand success.

The officials of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) officials and Indian organizers held a long discussion to review the security arrangements for this grand tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The security concern for the BWF was increased after the twin bomb attack in the luxurious hotels of Jakarta on Friday in which nine people were killed and nearly 50 were wounded.

K. C. Punnaiah Choudhary, chairman of the organizing committee said that there would be bomb units and dog units around the stadium and all the vehicles carrying players would be escorted by the police vans.
