What are issues with Apple’s new iPhone 3GS?

What are issues with Apple’s new iPhone 3GS?Surely the new iPhone 3GS is not fetching the response that Apple had expected. There are some issues with the new iPhone 3GS that are really vexing Apple – one of the most disturbing issues is the heating problem of iPhone 3GS.

Some users have reported the iPhone 3GS overheating problem, while some others have reported software issues with the iPhone 3GS. Some users have reported white iPhone 3GS discoloration on overheating. The French site – FrenchiPhone.com – has reported a number of cases of discoloration of white iPhone 3GS when exposed to heat.

Meanwhile, Apple has updated the heat advisory for the iPhone 3GS, in which it has described the operational temperatures and temperature management of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G handsets. In its advisory, Apple has advised the users of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G to store their devices in the places with temperature between –20 degree Celsius and 45 degree Celsius (–4 degree to 113 degree Fahrenheit), and the users should not leave their devices in their cars, because the temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

Apple has also notified that when the interior temperature of iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G devices exceed than exterior temperature, these devices stop charging, their displays get dimmer, cellular signals go weak, and temperature warning screen appears. According to Apple, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G devices are compliant with the safety standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment, IEC 60950-1, which has been recognized by many countries.

However, Apple has no answer about the use of iPhone 3GS in the countries, which usually have extremely warm climate; the countries like India where normal temperature is above 35 degree C in most parts. Apple will really have to address heating issues of iPhone 3GS to make the device workable in hotter climates.
