Rajesh Shera’s ‘Ocean Of An Old Man’ To Hit Screens This Week! The deadly Tsunami, which hit major parts of India and swept across Andaman and Nicobar islands on December 26, 2004, caused approximately 350,000 deaths and many more injuries.

This time, film producer Rajesh Shera comes with a touching tale of struggle that showcases the demolition wrought by the Tsunami.

Set against the striking background of the Andaman and Nicobar islands, the story of the movie, 'Ocean of An Old Man' revolves around Tom Alter.

Tom, a school teacher, not only loses his wife and daughter in the natural disaster but ends up losing an entire school of children.

The teacher is distressed and he lives a solitary life in desolated Japanese bunker.

Rajesh Shera said, "I happened to be there after a month or so of the Tsunami hitting the area. There I met many people and it affected me a lot in the sense that it connected with my mind, soul and emotions. This made me to believe in making something on the tragedy."

Shooting the film in the Tsunami-hit islands and contacting the sufferers on a daily basis was a memorable experience for the film's cast and crew.

Tom Alter said, "The sequence of shooting underwater with the children - who were supposed to be dead - was a mystical sort of a scene. The camera was underwater and looking into the camera and holding hands was a sort of a, not supernatural, but very holy experience for me."

Ocean of An Old Man has done its festival rounds and has been apprized by critics.

Now the producer is looking forward to its commercial release this week.
