Planned Parenthood dubs record request politically motivated

Planned Parenthood is having a really bad time. Now, the fight over Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood has moved to Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott has asked to end the funding for the organization. Texas health department investigators also reached Planned Parenthood health centers in different places to see documents.

Planned Parenthood South Texas has been asked to provide five years of records, which have any case of patient who has undergone abortion and any part of the fetus has been preserved for research use and also, has been billed to Medicaid.

Sarah Wheat, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, said they are quite concerned about the details in which the officials are going. Since the time videos were released that were secretly filmed by abortion opponents as officials from a biomedical company wanting fetal tissue.

The video showed Planned Parenthood officials trying to generate profit from the sale of fetal tissue. But as per the organization, the videos have been edited a lot. On Monday, Texas inspector general for the state's Health and Human Services Commission, Stuart W. Bowen Jr., sent a letter to Planned Parenthood affiliates that it no more has the ability to perform medical services in a professional, legal, safe and ethical manner.

Planned Parenthood said request for seeking documents is considered as a politically motivated move. As per Bowen, the termination of Medicaid for Planned Parenthood would not prove taxing for women as there are many other providers in the state.
