23-year old woman held responsible in teenager’s rape
Court documents have shown that Texas authorities have accused a 23-year-old woman of failing to stop the rape of a 14-year-old girl by two men.
The Austin American-Statesman has reported that Reyna Ramirez of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, near Austin, was arrested Monday and charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
The newspaper further said that the arrest affidavit alleges Ramirez was with the 14-year-old July 4 when the two men, Anibal Escobar, 19, and Anael Martinez, 22, sexually assaulted the girl.
According to the affidavit, after watching fireworks, the 14-year-old went with Ramirez to a Horseshoe Bay residence of some of Ramirez's friends, and Ramirez allegedly left the girl alone with Escobar and Martinez while she went with another man elsewhere in the house.
A police report has said that the 14-year-old said she became dizzy after Escobar gave her something to drink and remembers lying on a bed as the two took turns having sex with her.
The report further said that she fled to a bathroom where the two men followed and continued to assault her, and when Ramirez entered the bathroom she allegedly made no attempt to stop the assault.
The American-Statesman also reported that Escobar and Martinez were both arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. (With inputs from Agencies)
