Acura opens reservations for its inaugural $60K electric vehicle, the 'ZDX SUV'

Acura, an esteemed premium sub-brand of Honda, has officially opened reservations for its highly anticipated 2024 ZDX SUV, marking the brand's debut in the segment of battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The ZDX e-SUV, making a comeback from its 2010 model, will be made available in standard as well as high-performance Type S versions. In August this year, the brand unveiled the ZDX, highlighting its single-motor and dual-motor powertrain options. The Type S trim boasts an estimated 500 horsepower (hp) and a special "Double Apex Blue Pearl" exterior paint, adding a touch of excellence.

Reservations for the 2024 Acura ZDX e-SUV are now officially open through the brand’s new omni-channel digital sales process, which will allow customers to configure and reserve their vehicles either at the dealership or from the comfort of their homes. While exact pricing details for the BEV are yet to be revealed, the brand has confirmed that the single-motor ZDX A-Spec will start at around $60,000, while the dual-motor S-Type version priced at around $70,000.

The all-electric 2024 ZDX SUV comes with a range of enticing benefits for early adopters. Early adopters of the BEV can anticipate a host of exclusive benefits, including the Acura Energy Key Card, which unlocks access to sponsored events like the Sundance Film Festival and the 2024 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, providing owners with a premium experience. The card also entitles the owners to discounts on entertainment offerings from partners like Topgolf.

Moreover, Acura is offering the choice of three complimentary charging packages. Every buyer can choose any of the three packages at the time of EV purchase. These packages provide access to popular charging networks operated by EVgo and Electrify America.

It is worth-mentioning here that Acura’s parent firm Honda has recently shifted its stance toward electrification, committing to embrace EV, starting with the upcoming Prologue SUV. Acura followed suit with the ZDX, signaling a strategic move to electrify its lineup.

As the automotive industry accelerates toward electrification, Acura's entry into the BEV segment of the automotive market with the ZDX e-SUV signifies its commitment to innovation. Additionally, it signifies the company’s strategic approach to providing customers with a seamless transition to electric mobility. With initial ZDX e-SUV deliveries expected to commence in early 2024, the brand is poised to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving landscape of electric vehicles.
