The latest buzz in satellite systems has come from Arqiva, which plans to make two of its transponders on the Astra satellite system, located at 19 degrees east, available for MTV.

It follows a renewal of agreement between the two firms. In lieu of this matter, Commercial Director of Arqiva Satellite and Media, Malcolm Campbell, stated that the company had a great experience while dealing with the satellite provider and it will continue to deal further in future.

Arqiva will also offer fibre link between the MTV facilities in London and the company's teleport in the city leading to uplinking of the two transponders on the Astra satellite.

This agreement is considered as a small part of the vast network that Arqiva has. It is estimated that close to four hundred standard and High Definition TV channels are supported by its network.
