Automakers thinking out of the box

Indian-Auto-IndustryAs the level of competition is increasing by the Indian market, several auto majors have now started to think out of the box to gain maximum visibility among the Indian consumers. Be it market leader Maruti Suzuki, home-grown Tata Motors or the Indian arm of the Detroit giant GM, all of the aforementioned names are trying to strengthen their hold on the Indian market taking cue from the off beat marketing tactics.

GM has recently tied up with several retailers such as Levi's to showcase the Beat around various showrooms of the retailer across the country. The company will also be organising several road shows to gain maximum visibility among the Indian consumers.

Moreover, players like Hyundai motors and Tata Motors are taking the social media route with an aim to shore up sales in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki on the other end has been leveraging from the social media route with the launch of products like Ritz, Estilo and Swift in the country.

Notably, Hyundai Motors India started its digital initiative in 2009 and will soon be launching an i20 club for the proud i20 consumers.
