BoR staff unhappy with bank merger; protests against itJust a day after the merger of Bank of Rajasthan (BoR) with ICICI bank, the staff of BoR has shown its unhappiness and has launched an agitation.

Merger of the two banks will allow BoR to become a part of the largest private sector bank in India and thus it will be able to get over with the heavy debt burden that it is facing now.

The shareholders of BoR have already given their consent to the merger.

The reason behind the agitation is that the employees are not happy with the pay that they would be paid once this merger happens. As of now, their pays are determined by a package that is finalized by the Indian Banks Association and the bank staff unions.

Talking about the protest, Vishwas Utagi, Secretary, All India Bank Employees Association that the staffs of BoR are worried about their service conditions and protection of pension.

They want that the two issues get resolved before any more developments are made in this front.

As per a survey, while ICICI Bank was able to generate Rs. 11.54 crore business per employee, the figure for BoR was Rs. 5.32 crore.
