Break out in Texas prison, two inmates escape from high security jailOfficial reports have informed that two inmates, one of them a convicted killer, escaped from a Texas prison early Tuesday.

The San Antonio Express-News has reported that Jose Bustos-Diaz, 21, and Octavio Ramos Lopez, 27, both Mexican nationals, were believed to be heading for the border. The Briscoe Unit in Dilley, Frio County, is about 60 miles from Mexico.

The escape was discovered at about 7 a. m. when the two men failed to report for work in the prison furniture factory. Investigators said they believe Bustos-Diaz and Ramos Lopez cut through a fence and then left the area on foot, Jason Clark, a spokesman for the state Department of Criminal Justice, said.

It was further told by the officials that Bustos-Diaz was sentenced to 35 years for murder in Harris County, which includes Houston. Ramos-Lopez was doing 20 years for kidnapping and 12 for drug trafficking in Hidalgo County in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. (With Inputs from Agencies)
