San Francisco - The enigma of the disappearance of adventurer Steve Fossett moved closer to resolution Thursday as federal transportation officials were set to examine the wreckage of a light plane found near the site where objects apparently belonging to Fossett were discovered earlier in the week.
Searchers discovered the wreckage late Wednesday evening in a rugged wooded area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains after fanning out in a 15-kilometre radius from where hikers discovered ID cards, clothes and some 1,000 dollars in cash that appeared to belong to Fossett, authorities said.
Taipei - A Boeing 747-400 jetliner of Taiwan's major carrier China Airlines was hit by severe air turbulence on its way from Hong Kong to Bangkok Thursday, resulting in the injury of 21 people, the airlines said.
"Flight CI 641 arrived in Bangkok safely, and the injured, including, 5 crew members and 16 passengers, received hospital treatment," the airlines said in a news statement.
A total of 147 passengers and 18 crew members were on board the plane when the turbulence occurred without warning over Thai airspace, the airline said.
The oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of ATF by 5 per cent. The prices are reduced for second consecutive month and it is good news for the airlines of the country. Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport should grow to accommodate a maximum of 510,000 flights per year by 2020 from 433,000 today, according to an advisory committee report released Wednesday.
Additionally, the report recommends the transfer of charter flights to Eindhoven in the south and Lelystad in the central-north.
"The recommendations provide Schiphol with new opportunities to grow without compromising on sustainability," Ingrid Pouw, Schiphol Airport spokeswoman told Deutsche-Presse Agentur dpa Wednesday.
Jet Airways Chairman, Naresh Goyal is planning to sell 10 per cent shares in the Jet Airways. Mr. Goyal is in talk with some international funds for share sell out. He said that he will always remain the mentor of the company and will sell his own stake to make the company stronger, economically. He was here in Mumbai to address the annual general meeting (AGM) of the company.
Mr. Goyal, currently holds about 80 percent shares in Jet Airways. The company is likely to issue shares to investors to arrange more funds for company. It is waiting for the improvement in the global financial conditions for rights issue.
Nicosia, Oct 1: The ETA-Ascon Star Group, which is based in the United Arab Emirates, has announced plans to redevelop hundreds of small airstrips in India to serve the corporate jet market in the Gulf and take advantage of the growing traffic created by businessmen who travel to the business and industrial parks and economic zones in India.
The group, with annual sales revenues exceeding 5.5 billion dollars entered the aviation business by setting up Star Aviation in India earlier this year, which focuses on corporate executives who need to fly in the Gulf.
