Telecom Companies running for Licenses

Department of Telecom has received over 250 applications for Unified Access Services Licences (UASL) by telecom operators in various sectors. The number is expected to go up to 350 as the deadline for applying of telecom licenses expires this Monday. The companies seeking licenses include HFCL, Shyam Telelink, Unitech, Hindujas, Omaxe group, DLF Developers and Sify to name a few.

Bharti Signs Del Monte As Its Strategic Partner For FieldFresh Foods

bhartiBharti Enterprises has declared addition of a second strategic partner in its retail expansion on Friday by adding up Filipino firm Del Monte Pacific Ltd in its business enterprise, FieldFresh Foods Pvt Ltd to sell agricultural products.

Bharti will get hold of Del Monte's Indian manufacturing facilities in Bharti's strategic move from retailing fresh farm produce to making processed goods.

Hutch Crosses 50 Lac Subscribers Mark in Gujarat; Plans to Invest More in the State

Ahmedabad: Hutch has crossed the 50 lakh subscriber mark in Gujarat. Now it plans to invest around Rs 1,000 crore in the State during the existing fiscal (2007), as part of its growth plans.

Last year, the cellular services supplier invested Rs 330 crore in the state that contributes one-seventh of the total earnings of the company in India.
