Channel structure in India being restructured by Trend Micro

Trend Micro Internet Security The channel business by the Security vendor, Trend Micro is being restructured in India, and already the Delhi-based ACPL and Chennai-based Raksha Technologies have been elevated as sub-distributors.

It has also been learnt that by the end of this month, the consumers will also be able to avail security offerings from the vendors, who are also betting on retail strategy. It will also be good to know that all the retail outlets across the country will have Trend Micro Internet Security and Security Pro.

Amit Nath, Country Manager, Trend Micro India reported, "With the Internet penetration increasing, so are security threats. The distribution strategy revolves around looking at each of the IT clusters in India and we are having a distribution channels to address the same. Raksha and ACPL will be sub-distributors, while Ingram Micro will continue to be distributor."

Trend Micro is taking the help of FM services in select cities in order to connect to the consumers to convey message of safe Internet usage.

Nath further added, "We are entering the retail space in 32 cities, and are planning to work with Large Format Retailers too. The focus currently is on the B and C class cities and towns, where awareness is picking up."

Trend Micro may also announce further more exciting sale-out schemes with the aim to charge the spirits of the channels.

Nath concluded, "We are also in talks with large OEMs in the country, and soon will be in a position to announce more tie-ups."
