Coca-Cola names Atul Singh as deputy president of its Pacific Group
Coca-Cola, the world's largest beverage producer, has promoted its current India president & chief executive Atul Singh to the post of deputy president of its Pacific Group business.
The promotion, which was announced by the company on Wednesday, will assign Mr. Atul with a responsibility of overseeing operations in more than ten countries, including India and China.
Mr. Atul, who will continue to be based in Gurgaon, will concentrate largely on the company's Greater China and Korea Business Unit. Before taking over as the president of Coca-Cola India, he also worked as the president for the East, Central & South China division.
Coca-Cola said in a statement, "Given the enormous growth opportunities in China, and the uniquely competitive beverage landscape, Singh's focus will largely be on the Greater China and Korea Business Unit, which also includes Taiwan, Mongolia and Hong Kong & Macau."
India and China account for nearly 10 per cent of Coca-Cola's total volume sales. Indian and China are the third and seventh largest markets globally for the Coca-Cola, respectively.
The company also announced the elevation of senior vice president (operations) Venkatesh Kini to the post of deputy president of India & South West Asia business.
The changes will take effect from 1st of July, 2013.
