Danish prince born, fifth grandchild for Queen MargretheCopenhagen  - Denmark's Queen Margrethe II became a grandmother for the fifth time Monday with the birth of a prince to her younger son.

The queen's daughter-in-law Princess Marie, 32, gave birth to her first child early Monday with her husband, Prince Joachim, 39, at her side, the palace said, adding that mother and child were doing well.

The child was Joachim's third son. He has two from his first marriage.

Those three princes stand in the line of succession to the Danish throne behind the son and daughter of Joachim's brother, Crown Prince Frederik, 40, the first son of Margrethe and her husband, Prince Henrik. (dpa)
