Eating Jalapenos Could Be Deadly

Raw jalapenos have joined the group of suspicious food items, which are Eating Jalapenos Could Be Deadly linked to spread of salmonella.

Initially a few varieties of tomato-plum, round and roma were regarded as carriers of salemonella saintpaul. This disease has sickened 1000 people till now.  

The death of 80-year-old Texas man is associated with Salmonella Saintpaul.

However according to official data, only six persons infected with this strain of Salmonella Saintpaul were identified in the country during April through June of 2007.

FDA officials are still in the process of identifying the food items related to spread of this food infection.

The U.S. health authorities have issued warning under which senior citizens and people with weak immune system should avoid eating raw peppers and cilantro.

All the food stores have been advised to stop selling raw peppers and cilantro.

The main symptoms of Salmonella appear within 12 to 72 hours after infection. The main symptoms of Salmonella are diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps.

The main problem before the authorities working on the food articles related to salemonella is that people often don’t remember the integrants of the dish they had consumed last time.

The recent cautionary warning issued by US authorities is related to raw jalapenos, serranos and cilantro. People who prefer Mexican food will be affected most by this warning because these three food articles form the major part of Mexican cooking.
