Extra Demanding Infants May Grow Up With Behavioral Problems
Parenthood is not an easy task. It is a renowned fact that upbringing of a
child decides what kind of an individual he will become. The recent research done in US proved that choosey infants grow up into troublesome kids in school and later on become lying and troubling youth. The docile infants grow up as kids with balanced personality.
The research led by Dr Benjamin Lahey of Chicago University proved that the nature of child during infancy define the kind of temperament they would have when they will grow up. The researchers followed nearly 2,000 children from birth to the age of 13 and found that genetics played an important part in a child's behavior.
The latest study presents various facts regarding the nature of the child and his upbringing. The study also claimed that the mothers who spend qualitative time with their kids in the first year reduce the chances of the behavioral problems in the kids in the later life. The involvement of parents and kids in such activities like reading, interacting and playing help kids to develop their language as well as social interaction ability.
The researchers also stressed that some behavioral patterns during infancy such as inconsistency in eating and sleeping timings, constantly demanding time, no sleep in the evenings even at nights should be paid attention. Such behavioral patterns could be beginning of behavioral problems in the later life.
Dr Benjamin Lahey stressed that by teaching parents the better skills regarding parenting can prevent various behavioral problems in kids.
