Four NATO soldiers, believed US, die in Afghan attackKabul  - Four foreign soldiers of the NATO-led force in Afghanistan have been killed in a Taliban attack in the northern town of Kunduz, the German Defence Ministry has said.

Two Afghan adults and one child were reported to have been injured in the attack.

According to a Defence Ministry spokesman in Berlin, the four dead were US soldiers. Neither NATO itself or the US military has yet confirmed the deaths. The German armed forces or Bundeswehr is the NATO force responsible for the Kunduz region.

A Taliban spokesman in the area confirmed responsibility for Monday's attack, and said that its forces had detonated explosives under the NATO vehicle. Sabiullah Mujahid claimed that five troops had been killed. The governor of Kunduz province, Mohammad Omar also confirmed the attack.(dpa)
