Here’s a big moral booster for the South African cricket team. According to some media reports team skipper Graeme Smith has recovered from an injury and is expected to come back for the one-day series against Australia.

The five match ODI series between the two teams is all set to begin in Durban on Friday with a bang.

It can be recalled that Smith injured his little finger of the right hand when he was struck by a delivery from Aussie fast bowler Mitchell Johnson during the second Test in Durban.

Mitchell Johnson is one of the most talked about Australian cricketers these days. The in-form Aussie all-rounder is all set to become the second highest paid player in the 25-man contract list of Cricket Australia.

Wellington (New Zealand), Mar. 31 : West Indian umpire Billy Doctrove has been replaced for Friday''''s third cricket test between New Zealand and India at the Basin Reserve as he continues to recover from illness.

Doctrove had to pull out of the second test in Napier last Saturday after two days play when he was diagnosed with a chest infection. He was replaced by New Zealand''''s Evan Watkin, the NZPA reports.

Two neutral umpires will stand in the series finale.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has decided to declare their skipper and team for the upcoming second season of IPL in South Africa instead of India.

After the conclusion of a six-day training camp at the Eden Gardens, KKR CEO, Joy Bhattacharya said declined to declare the team and the skippers saying that they want to keep all alternatives open before they begin their IPL campaign in South Africa. “I don't want to disclose the names of the players who would be going to South Africa now as we want to keep all options open”, said Bhattacharya.
