Half of Cambridge indulge in Plagiarism A recent survey has suggested that even highly intelligent students admitted in the prestigious Cambridge are prone to copy and submit essays they find on Google.

An anonymous online poll conducted by the student newspaper Varsity participated by more than 1,000 students, and the results showed that 49% of undergraduates, at some point of their university career, submit someone else's report as their own. Out of this only 5% admitted that they had been caught while doing this.

Cambridge UniversityLondon, Oct 31: Nearly half of students at Cambridge University cheat, reveals a new survey.

The survey has shown that 49 per cent of undergraduates claimed other people''s work as their own while studying at the world famous institution.

The anonymous online poll of more than 1,000 students found those studying law were the worst offenders with 62 per cent of them breaking the university plagiarism rules, according to student newspaper Varsity.

The university is now planning to introduce special plagiarism detection software to tackle the problem.

Italian schools on strike against government education reforms

Rome - Schools in Italy remained closed Thursday as teachers went on strike over controversial education reforms adopted by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government.

Thousands of students, parents and teachers joined protest marches organized by the country's major labour unions in several cities.

Leaders of the centre-left opposition which is supporting the strike also joined the protest marches.

Around mid-morning, a crowd began moving from Rome's Piazza Repubblica square towards the central Piazza del Popolo square where the protest was set to culminate with speeches by leaders of the main CGIL, CISL and UIl unions.

Australian triplets top their school with identical grades

Sydney - Identical triplets scored identical grades in their final year at an Australian high school and were each awarded prizes for top achievement.

"It's nice coming out equal because we always get asked who's the smartest," Kate Stevenson, flanked by sisters Amy and Lisa, said Friday.

"It was something we all were hoping for when the prizes came out and we got three each," she told Australia's AAP news agency.

Never before in the 50-year history of Brisbane's Wavell State High School had the award for the top student in the graduating class been split.
