NEW YORK, Dec. 3  -- Kelly Ripa's publicist says the U. S. television personality and her actor husband Mark Consuelos aren't splitting up, contrary to a report claiming they are.

No bail for Hudson family slay suspect

CHICAGO, Dec. 3  -- A Chicago judge Wednesday denied bail to William Balfour, charged with killing three members of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson's family.

Balfour was charged Tuesday with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion in the October slayings of Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew. Balfour is the estranged husband of Hudson's sister Julia.

The Chicago Tribune said Balfour attorney Joshua Kutnick argued Wednesday the case against Balfour is circumstantial and largely based on the word of unreliable witnesses. Kutnick also said there were no witnesses to the crimes and no evidence tying Balfour to the gun believed to have been used in the triple homicide.

Casino’s free vouchers scheme backfires

London, Dec 3 : A casino that wanted to show its appreciation to its loyal customers almost ended at a loss, when free vouchers meant for 1,000 people were sent out to 55,000 people.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course wanted to reward them with free slot machine playing credits that offered 100 dollars n slots credits per week from December 1 through January 4.

The offer also included two free visits to the buffet at the casino in Grantville, about 15 miles northeast of Harrisburg, said Penn National spokesman Eric Schippers.

New Delhi, December 3: Coldplay’s latest album ‘Viva la Vida’ and Leona Lewis’ new single ‘Bleeding Love’ have topped iTunes sales for 2008.

While the Brit alternative rock band’s fourth studio CD became the ‘best-selling album’ of 2008, the Brit pop-R&B singer’s latest release went on to grab the top-selling single title.

Coldplay, whose album had sold more than 2 million copies since its June release, had sell more than 500,000 digital copies, mainly through iTunes, according to the group’s rep.

Jack Johnson’s ‘Sleep Through the Static’ bagged the second best album spot with ‘Juno,’ Lil Wayne''s Tha Carter III’ and Sara Bareilles'' ‘Little Voice’ finishing the iTunes top 5.
