Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ named ''Most Played Christmas Song''

London, November 29 : Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ has been named as the ‘Most Played Festive Track’ of the last five years by a company which collects royalties for composers and musicians.

The Performing Right Society revealed that the 1984 hit by the pop band, formed in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, has been the most aired tune of the festive season of the last five years.

Bagging significant positions in their chart of seasonal songs was Band Aid''s ‘Do They Know It''s Christmas’ at the number two spot.

The original 1984 recording was followed by The Pogues with their ‘Fairytale of New York’ while Marian Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ came in fourth, reports the BBC.

Brit actor with Asian appearance recalls Mumbai terror carnage

London, Nov. 29 : A British actor with an Asian appearance said that he literally curled himself up like a small ball as terrorists struck the restaurant in which he was dining.

Actor Joey Jeetun, 31, from London said the attack on the Leopold cafe, next to the Taj Mahal hotel, would live forever in his memory. He said that he survived because he was covered in other victims'' blood and the gunmen thought he was dead.

"I just curled myself in the smallest ball I could and closed my eyes. After about five minutes it stopped and I opened my eyes. There were dead people next to me who had been shot in the head," Jeetun told The Telegraph.

Batman not to be killed in new comic

Washington, Nov 29 : Batman comic bosses have denied reports that the Caped Crusader will be killed off in the popular comic book.

Rumours were abuzz that Batman will meet a gruesome end in the latest book titled Batman, R. I. P.: Conclusion.

However, D. C. Comics executives have shot down the reports, insisting that the superhero''s demise has been blown out of proportion.

Though the story ends story ends on a cliffhanger, executive editor Dan DiDio insists Batman will return.

"He''s not dead, though he''ll definitely be gone for a while,” Contactmusic quoted DiDio as telling the New York Daily News.
