Washington, Oct 25: With the number of HIV/AIDS cases increasing in South Africa, health workers have now resorted to one of the most popular technology to make people aware of the virus and the disease- text messaging.
Health workers have launched an ambitious text messaging campaign, which will inform millions of South Africans daily about HIV/AIDS counseling services and testing centers throughout the country.
The campaign is titled, Project Masiluleke, which means "hope" and "warm counsel" in the South Africa''s major language, Zulu.

According to a report by the Yomiuri Shinbum newspaper on Saturday, the 43-year-old from Miyazaki prefecture in southern Japan, was outraged that her virtual husband divorced her character in the online game Maple Story.
Gamers in the virtual role-play enter social relationships with other characters and fight against virtual enemies. The woman married her game partner, but the man, a company employee from Sapparo in northern Japan divorced her again subsequently.
Police said the woman, identified as Mayumi Tomari, illicitly obtained the man's password and ID and terminated his online existence.
Washington, Oct 25 : Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s popularity is depleting by the day, even as less than two weeks are left for the Nov 4 elections. According to Washington Post, public perception about Palin was falling because people believe that she lacks experience to handle the second-highest post.
According to White House spokeswoman, Dana Perino, the reigning first couple of the country, President Bush and Mrs. Bush, cast their ballots Friday for the 2008 election, using Texas’ early voting process. In the three elections, Bush voted in Crawford, Texas, where he owns a 1,600 acre ranch.
Saying that the President and his wife, Laura, would be at the White House for election night, Perino said the ballots will be mailed back to Texas.

According to administration sources, secretary of Governor David Paterson, Charles O’Byrne, has resigned on Friday, after a week of increasing criticism over his failure to pay income taxes for 2001-05 – an amount of $300,000 - on time, and not offering a tangible reason for the lapse.
