Kirsten Feels; Dhoni Ready For Test Captaincy

The India coach, Gary Kirsten recently praised Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and said that the Kirsten Feels; Dhoni Ready For Test Captaincy man is ready to become the captain of the Indian cricket team from all forms.

However, he also confirmed that since Anil Kumble is doing a terrific job as a captain and leading the Test side, there was no immediate need to post Dhoni as the Captain presently. 

Private Promoters To Be Retrained By AITA

A major decision has been taken up by the All India Tennis Association (AITA), as it has decided to cancel all the ATP and WTA tours, which were supposed to be held this month. Further, the Association has decided that no private entrepreneurs would be allowed to organize such events in future.

On 29th and 30th August, AITA’s  executive committee meeting and annual general meeting was held in Goa after which it was decided that ATP and WTA promoters won’t be allowed to hold such events in future as it projects the poor image of the country.

Due to some security concerns, the ATP Tournament was reportedly canceled that earlier was to be held by Globosport in Mumbai but later moved in hands of Reliance ADG in Bangalore.

BCCI Approves The Entry Of Foreign Players In Domestic Cricket

Foreign players can play in the domestic matches in India. BCCI has allowed foreigner players to play in local tournaments including one player in Ranji Trophy.

The technical committee of BCCI has given its nod to state associations for their participation in domestic matches. The foreigner players will be treated as guest players. It is worth mentioning that former England batsman Denis Compton and West Indian pacer Roy Gilchrist had played in the Ranji Trophy during India's pre-independence.

Bhupati, Peas reach third round of US Open doubles

India’s Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, with their respective partners, reached the third round of the US Open doubles.

On Friday in New York, the seventh seeded Peas along with his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy won against Eduardo Schwank óf Argentina and Italy's Potito Starace 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 in 72 minutes. On the other hand, Bhupati and Bahamian Mark Knowles too gave a tough fight to Yves Allegro and Horia Tecau of Romania 6-3, 6-3 in 66 minutes.

South African Rik de Voest and Australian  Ashley Fisher who overcame No. 12 seeds and Roland Garros winners Pablo Cuevas and Luis Horna 7-6 (3), 6-2, are the next to be faced by Peas and Dlouhy.
