Rohit Monserratte, son of Goa Education Minister who allegedly raped a German minor girl, was granted bail on Monday.

He was granted a bail on bond of Rs 10,000. Rohit was in police custody till today. Surprisingly, the police didn’t oppose his bail.

"I'm relieved. This is the first step in clearing my son's name," said Babush Monserrate, Educaton Minister of Goa.

Earlier, the mother of the German minor withdrew the charges against the Minister's son all of a sudden.

Goan Court ordered Rohit to deposit his passport with the police within seven days.
