Golmaal Returns!
In the news, the much talked about Golmaal Returns, sequel to Golmaal - 2006 hit comedy is ready to roll out. The Golmaal 2 team organized a first look of the sequel to the media at Cinemax, Versova, attended by the entire starcast, together with Producer and Host, Dhilin Mehta, and Rohit Shetty, Director. Unfortunately, Kareena Kapoor fans did not get a glimpse of their favourite actress as she was shooting for a Raju Hirani film in Ladakh, while a prior commitment kept Amrita Arora away.
Film promos included ‘Tha Karke’, a song that Rohit Shetty said was partly inspired by the stunts of superstar Rajinikanth and said to be one of the most expensive to be shot in Bollywood. Fresh, lively and hilarious, the sequel is quite in line with audience expectations. There is Arshad Warsi with a Saif tattoo on his chest, though Tusshar Kapoor, part of the film clarifies that the tattoo is a joke and the film does not spoof anyone. According to Rohit Shetty, the film is full of gigs and since anyone who gets a tattoo becomes fodder for TV coverage, he decided to incorporate it in the film.
With a new bunch of leading ladies adding novelty to the sequel, the entire cast is all praise for the film and each other. Arshad said he found Kareena Kapoor cute in her comic scenes, Celina Jaitley talked about her great comic timing with Shreyas Talpade, while Anjana Sukhani claimed Golmaal Returns to be 10,000 times more fun than Golmaal. A fact confirmed by Ajay Devgan who says that certain Gomaal sequel sections are funnier and will certainly have the audience rolling in the aisles.
With no message to convey except relax and enjoy the fun, Producer Dhilin Mehta said he wanted to deliver bigger and better hits like his last film Jab We Met.
Slated for a Diwali release, Golmaal Returns has a lot of expectations riding on it. Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd., the film stars Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Arora, Shreyas Talpade, Celina Jaitley, Tusshar Kapoor and Anjana Sukhani. Music has been composed by Pritam.
