HP bestows cloud computing for key Indian verticalsHewlett-Packard (HP) has claimed of bringing in the latest cloud-based solutions for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in case of verticals such as retail, healthcare and education verticals in India.

The Economic Times reports that the company that recently acquired Palm has joined hands with approximately 150 Indian software firms to offer solutions and at the same time claims of developing around 8 to 10 applications.

HP India head, Santanu Ghose, said that the present strategy adopted gives a compelling solution to the SMB segment of India. It will help lessen the total cost of ownership with respect to IT infrastructure at the same time offering the cloud computing space.

He further adds that the company that initially begun as an infrastructure-as-a-service model slowly transitioned towards software-as-a-service.

Facts suggest that HP India is market leader in Indian SMB segment for the previous three years and its motto of working towards strengthening its position has been seen in the Indian markets.
