ICANN Will Accept Domain Applications from Organizations Next Year
The organizations were allowed to apply for the different fields in the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) from January 12 to April 12 in the coming year. The ICANN declared that the various fields of internet could be in any language, any script and that there was no word limit so as to provide the internet users with a wide variety of information.
The ICANN authorities accepted 22 suffixes, .net, .com and .org are among them. On the other hand, Singapore was going to launch an internet security application that would be able to check the genuineness of the websites, email addresses, revealed Straits Times Today.
Moreover, the government was going to invest 15 million Singapore dollars on the development of mobile application which was quiet beneficial for the users as it will provide the user with the information of retail, food and beverage, hotel and attractions sectors in the city state. In relation to the project, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Yaacob Ibrahim, revealed that the government was looking for companies which could provide with such a ground-breaking mobile service.
All the proposals taken up by the Singapore government was permitted to be carried out by the non-profit group of ICANN. The domains were a beneficial mode for organizations to popularize themselves in the internet market.
