Indian American to join board of trustees of JFK centre
Eminent Indian American personality, Romesh Wadhwani has been appointed as one of the members on the board of trustees of the prestigious John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
US President Barack Obama announced the appointment of nine members of the board of trustees including Dr Wadhwani. He has worked as the chairman and CEO of Symphony Technology Group and has also been a founder and chief of several IT companies.
"These dedicated men and women bring a wealth of experience and talent to their new roles and I am proud to have them serve in this Administration. I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come," Obama said in a statement Friday.
The white house said that Dr Wadhwani is the founder and Chairperson of the Wadhwani Foundation and is also a member of Board of Trustees of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Dr Wadhwani has been involved with the initiatives of the Kennedy Center. He was the Co-Chair of the Maximum India Festival in 2011 and as a supporter of the 2010 Honors Gala.
He completed his BA from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay and went on to get MS and PhD from Carnegie-Mellon University.
