Washington, Aug 2: The issue of the July 7 bombing of Indian embassy in Kabul did not figure during the recent meeting between US President George Bush and Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in Washington, when the latter visited the US.

According to the White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, the duo had a “good meeting” earlier this week during which they agreed that the two countries need to fight terrorism jointly.

Declining to comment on Friday’s media reports about the bombing on the Indian embassy in Kabul last month, she said that the issue did not come up in the meeting between the two leaders.

“They had a good meeting. They agreed that the war on terror was one that we needed to fight together because the enemy is going not just after Pakistanis, but the United States as well. And so our joint efforts need to be comprehensive,” the Daily Times quoted Dana as saying.

She told reporters that President Bush and Prime Minister Gilani had an “extensive conversation about counter-terrorism efforts.” “We continue to work with the Pakistanis to try to improve the situation,” she said and added that the two sides discussed military and intelligence co-operation in counter-terrorism efforts.
