Indian Railways' revenues intensified by over 7 percent in its first quarter of this fiscal year, the railway ministry expressed the same.

The wagon domain earned Rs.22, 061.13 crore from April 1 to June 30 next to the Rs.20, 610.63 crore acquired during the same period last year, recording a inclination of 7.04 percent, as per the ministry statement.

Moving ahead with the revenues it churned out from the passenger traffic enhanced by 6.69 per cent and through the goods transport by 7.20 per cent. Earnings from other tracks regulated a growth of 8.35 per cent.

Further the revenue from goods transport stood high from Rs.13, 927.05 crore to Rs.14, 930.11 crore, the earnings from passenger traffic mounted from Rs.5, 802.66 crore to Rs.6, 190.70 crore. Other earnings mounted from Rs.577.78 crore to Rs.626.01 crore, in a statement.

The same entailed the estimated figures of passenger bookings during the month of April-June 2010 that went at 1,937.22 million viz a viz to 1836.51 million in the parallel period last year, with an inclination of 5.48 per cent.
