Indian Stocks Trade Higher; Asia Boosts Sentiment

Stock-MarketIndian stock markets were trading positive on Monday with BSE Sensex nearly 1% higher compared to previous close. At 12.30 pm IST, BSE Sensex was up by 148 points at 16867 while NSE Nifty was up by 47 points at 5115. Hang Seng closed 2.3% higher at 18929. Straits Times closed 1.6% higher at 2782. Nikkei 225 was up by nearly two per cent at 8624.

USD-INR was trading at 55.30. Euro-INR was at 69.81. Gold was marginally higher at 29630. Silver was up by nearly 1% at 54,731.

Among most active stocks today were SBI, Larsen, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors. Among major gainers, Sterlite was up by 4.2%. Reliance Infra was up by 3.7% at 522. Jaiprakash Associates was up by 3.6% at 71. Tata Power was up by 3.6% at 97.70.

HCL Tech, Cipla and Sun Pharma were trading in negative zone. The markets are expected to close positive today as European Futures have opened strong. DAX and FTSE futures were trading higher by nearly 2 per cent and this would offer strength to Indian markets during closing hours.
