Jackie Shroff To Make Debut In Kollywood!
Ace Bolywood actor Jackie Shroff is ready to make his debut in Kollywood with Aaranya Kaandam, which is being produced by S P Charan, son of renowned singer Balasubhramaniyam.
The film, in which Jaggu Dada (jackie shroff’s pet name) plays a dreaded don named ‘Singam Perumal’, is directed by debutant Kumararaja, who did the script for ‘Oram Po’.
The mustachioed actor is a big fan of south Indian film industry.
Jackie Shroff, who is shooting for the film in Chennai, said, “I had been to Chennai on several occasions before. Rajinikanth is my good friend. He had acted with me in Hindi movies and has also attended my marriage. I agreed to do the movie for the storyline narrated to me was really catchy.”
“It is a gripping story. I enjoyed every moment working in the project,” he said and added, “The dedication and zeal with which the technicians in Tamil film industry works, their respect for senior artistes has amazed me.”
He also said that Chennai has got a top position in the Indian entertainment map for Madras' Mozart AR Rahman has won the coveted Golden Globe award for the country.
On his part, director Kumararaja, said, “It is story of men with animal instincts. It dwells into the concept of survival of the fittest. I thank my producer S P B Charan who has given me enough liberty.”
The star cast of the film includes Ravikrishna, Yasmeen Ponappa, Sampath Raj among others. The movie has music by Yuvanshankar Raja.
