Jakarta - An 30-year-old Indonesia man allegedly doused his girlfriend in petrol and burned her to death in a fit of jealousy, a media report said Saturday.

The 29-year-old Desy Kana died from burns to most of her body at the WZ Yohannes General Hospital in East Nusa Tenggara after being set on fire by Jackson Hendrik Lasi at her home in Manulai II sub-district, the Jakarta Post reported.

It quoted witnesses as saying that the couple was engaged in a fierce of argument over Desy dating another man.

Desy's relatives reported the case to the East Nusa Tenggara provincial police, but no action had been taken on ground that the family filed an unclear report, the paper said. (dpa)
