Washington, Feb 26 : Indian-origin Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has said that President Barack Obama `needs to show leadership' and stop trying to `scare' Americans about looming spending cuts.

Jindal said following the National Governors Association''s morning meeting with Obama that `the president needs to stop campaigning, stop trying to scare the American people, stop trying to scare states.'

According to Politico, the governor said that he urged the president to consider delaying new spending, such as an expansion of Medicaid, instead of cutting existing programs.

But Obama "disagreed with that," he added.

Jindal also called on the president to send Congress a prioritized list of spending cuts that "preserves critical services."

The report said that Jindal, who chairs the Republican Governors Association, was more aggressive than other governors who spoke during the same availability, and kept talking to reporters even after he walked off the grounds of the White House. (ANI)
