L&T secures orders worth Rs.2,080 croreEngineering and construction conglomerate, Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) said on Thursday that its L&T Construction has been able to secure orders worth Rs. 2,080 crore in various business segments during February and March.

The company had bagged orders worth Rs. 1,504 crore across industries in the month of February and it has secured Rs. 576 crore worth of orders so far in March. The company said in a statement that its building and factories division received new orders worth Rs. 1,385 crore for the construction of residential towers in urban areas in northern India.

The company also said that its power transmission and distribution business unit bagged orders worth Rs. 585 crore from several clients. The Transmission Corp. of Andhra Pradesh placed an order for 220 KV underground cable laying between Malkaram and Ghanapur sub-staion to Moulali substation in Andhra Pradesh.

L&T Construction will also build 400 kV double circuit transmission line between Kurukshetra and Jalandhar and a 400 kV double circuit transmission line at Kurukshetra for Power Grid Corporation. L&T also pointed out that it received additional orders worth Rs. 110 crore from ongoing projects in water and solar and infrastructure business.

The shares of the company rose 0.73 per cent to Rs. 1,448 at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
