McDonald's appoints Jeff Stratton as new head of US division
Fast food giant, McDonald's Corp has appointed Jeff Stratton as the new president of its U. S. business at a time when the company is facing tough competition and slower demand.
Stratton has been working as the global chief restaurant officer for the company. He has been working for the company for 40 years and has served at various positions. He began behind the counter in a Detroit restaurant and reached the position of the president of its West division in 2001.
He was then prompted to the post of chief restaurant officer for McDonald's USA and took over the global position in 2005. He has overseen multibillion-dollar restaurant remodeling program and a new point-of-sale system that resulted in improved restaurant efficiency and speed of service.
Stratton and his team have overseen the remodeling of the majority of the chain's 14,000 restaurants in order to incorporate the McCafe beverage program into the restaurants. The program has added $1 billion in sales annually for the company.
He currently oversees design, operations, training, performance, training and security for the chain's almost 34,000 restaurants around the world. Many believe that Stratton will be able to revive the fortunes of McDonald's USA. The American market is an important market for the global retailer as it is the largest after Europe.
