Microsoft announces to release its patches on TuesdayMicrosoft has announced to release 6 critical bulletins on February 9 which will be affecting all the windows on the desktop and server, currently supported by the Microsoft.

An overall 13 bulletins will be released in total, out of which five are listed as critical, seven as important and one as moderate. Out of the 13, 10 patches will be requiring a system restart, which will cause downtime for servers.

Microsoft released a total of 34 bulletins last time in October month of the year 2009. The company has not yet specified about the number of vulnerabilities in the upcoming 13 bulletins but the experts have expected an average of two vulnerabilities per bulletin.

Regarding the issue, the senior director of solutions and strategy for Lumension said, "Bulletin six is definitely key, we can see that both server teams and desktop teams are going to be impacted. With bulletin six it might be worthwhile to move up the maintenance window if need be."

Mr. Letham has further advised the users that they should start preparing instead of waiting to scramble on the Tuesday when the patches will be releasing.

In this month, less patches are expected for the application side including one for Microsoft office XP and office 2003 and another for Office 2004 for Mac. In addition to this, updates related to the Malicious Software Removal Kit, to the Windows Mail Junk Filter, and several non-security updates.
