Disney sued by screenwriter over Hannah Montana script
Washington, Jan 29 : Disney bosses behind actress Miley Cyrus' hit show Hannah Montana, have been sued by a screenwriter over the script used.
Richard Fronduto filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles County Superior Court on January 28, claiming that the teen series was based on a script he had written in 1990.
Fronduto claimed that he penned the idea for a show called `The Secret Life of Sindi', which eventually became `The Family Business'.
He said that he had pitched the script to Disney executives, who asked him to turn it into a two-hour pilot episode, reports Contactmusic.
According to him, there are numerous similarities between his discarded pilot episode and the Hannah Montana show, with both featuring a teenage girl who leads a double life as an ordinary teen and successful pop star.
And he is asking for a "Created by" credit on all future publications and broadcasts of Hannah Montana, as well as damages. (ANI)
