Directed by A Kodandarami Reddy and produced by G Vijayakumar Goud under the banner of Sound and Claps with Mumait Khan playing the title role and Rajiv Kanakala playing the hero.

The audio of the film was launched recently in Hyderabad. Former minister SV Subba Reddy unveiled the audio and handed over the first audio CD to Praja Rajyam leader Bhooma Nagireddy. Reddy says, `Now we are in political sector. Long ago, we too used to distribute films. I wish Punnami Nagu would earn name and fame in all aspects.' Director says, `There will always be good response to the films that have come up with snakes in its backdrop.

Earlier I directed `Punnami Nagu' with Chiranjeevi and again I am doing a film with the same title now with Mumait Khan. We wish the film would be a big hit.' Yandamuri Virendranath, who penned the story, says, `It is the story of a snake which prevented a huge mishap and saved the world.'
