Denmark lowers lending rate

Denmark lowers lending rateCopenhagen - Denmark's central bank Thursday lowered its lending rate by 0.35 percentage points to 1.65 per cent, shadowing an earlier rate cut by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The Danish rates cut was effective as of May 11, the Danish central bank said.

The Danish central bank said the discount rate and the current account rate would also be lowered by 35 basis points to 1.40 per cent as of May 11.

Denmark is a member of the European Union, but not a member of the eurozone. (dpa)
