HTC sales rise up by 41 percentHTC has pronounced a 41 per cent increase in overall sales over the first six months of 2010, reports BBC.

The company has supposedly made money out from the success from its Android-based smartphones. It was stated that the year round revenues that got over in June 2010 has increased to £2 billion, up from the £1.4 billion units considering the 2009 sales.

The Taiwanese maker stated that other handset has recorded sales in the last three months with the highest sales records ever.

The figures remained to be high when compared to earlier predictions that stated by market analysts, who give credit to the increase in sales to HTC's efforts of expanding its product portfolio.

HTC initially focused on offering branded smartphones for specific networks, such as the XDA for O2 and the Google nexus, but with recent popularity of Android-based smartphones, including the Desire, Legend and Hero it has widened its reach.

Michael Chiang, an analyst with the Taiwan International Securities stated: "Normally, June is an off-peak season. The sales figures are really amazing."
