ISB invites ideas for social business

ISBWith a view to promote the concept of social entrepreneurship in the country, the students of the Indian School of Business (ISB) launched the second ISB iDiya Challenge. It is to be mentioned here that this will be a national competition of ideas for social ventures. While the program started at July 23rd 2010, the idea is to invite ideas from working professionals for profitable business models with measurable social impact.

Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB, said that at this esteemed business school, it is a responsibility to create a large impact on the society through supporting sustainable social ventures.

Moreover, Rangenkar also pointed out the fact that with the kick-off it provides a perfect opportunity to urge industry leaders to actively propagate this competition among their staff. Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM said that this kind of need will not be met by who fulfill the market demand but from the people who will create it.

There is no denying to the fact that the Indian turf has always been known as the land of entrepreneurs and in the coming times, such programs are expected to raise the level in the country.
