Investors bail out of Australian stocks
Sydney - Australian stocks slid at the opening bell Friday in keeping with the pervading gloom in the United States and Europe.
The ASX 200 slipped 102 points, or 2.1 per cent, in the first half hour of trading to 4,658.
Shares fell across the board, with mining stocks in the red because of fears the financial crisis will affect the wider economy. (dpa)
