Nokia's new XpressMusic mobile

Nokia 5800 Xpress MusicRecently, the Finnish handset maker Nokia, launched its exclusive model in the Xpress Music phones at Rs 19,999, thus making the competition stiffer in the touch screen phone segment.

Nokia India MD D Shivakumar, reported, “Nokia 5800 Xpress Music will be made available either by December-end or January next year and will be priced at Rs 19,999.”

Moreover, a beta version of the Nokia Music Store would also be launched by the company on 18th December of this year, while in Q1 of the next year; the consumer version would be available.

Nokia Executive Vice President Anssi Vanjoki informed, “Mobile music will continue to be a key priority area for Nokia in 2009 and our strategy is aimed at developing the market for mobile music by following a partnership driven model that enriches consumer experience with innovative devices, accessories and local content.”

Basically the Nokia Music Store is a part of the OVI and is an online music service that will provide over a million tracks from the global hits to the local artists and works with one user interface. As of now, a total of 11 Nokia Music stores are operating worldwide.

The company has also entered in a tie up with the international and Indian music companies like Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, EMI, Warner, Tseries, Big Music and Yashraj in order to source content across the regional and vernacular music labels.

A 3.2 megapixel camera, a 3.2-inch widescreen display, and a virtual alphanumeric keypad, along with a pen stylus for input are some of the features of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
