Pamplona Bull Run leaves several injured

Pamplona Bull Run leaves several injuredIt has been reported that several people were injured Friday morning in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, after one bull charged runners several times.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that the run was the third in this year's festival, which lasts for nine days. Rain had slicked Pamplona's streets, making running awkward.

Six bulls from the Fuente Ymbro Ranch ran the course to the bullring accompanied by thousands of runners dressed in white with red sashes. The festival, popularized by Ernest Hemingway in "The Sun Also Rises," lures tourists from all over the world, and critics say it has become an excuse for all-night drinking.

It was also reported that Friday's run lasted for more than 6 minutes, about twice the usual time, because of the bull that split off from the rest. It charged several times.

The report further noted that injuries are common at the festival, a man suffered a fatal goring last year, but deaths are uncommon, except for the bulls, which are killed every night in the bullring and end up on restaurant plates. (With Inputs from Agencies)
